Kristy Cox, CFMG certifier and owner of Pretty Kitty All-Natural Cat Grooming, is an approved trainer and certifier for the National Cat Groomers Institute. As a certification association for cat groomers, the National Cat Groomers Institute sets the standards for cat grooming within the pet grooming industry. Certification drives groomers to provide the highest level of care and services while assuring clients that their beloved pets are in good hands.

I will share with you how I grew my successful business, how to talk to customers, and what programmes worked for me, i.e., booking, note-taking, and processing payments. Being an excellent groomer is what you’ll need to get returning customers; however, having the right systems and business knowledge will make sure you are a thriving business and will assist you in achieving all your grooming goals.
CFMG™ CERTIFICATION
Earning the Certified Feline Master Groomer™ (CFMG™) title requires passing a total of nine exams with a grade of 85% or higher.
The nine exams consist of four written exams and five practical exams.
WRITTEN EXAMS:
- Temperament and Handling
- Breeds, colours, and Genetics
- Anatomy and Health
- Business Management
PRACTICAL EXAMS:
- Short-Haired Full-Coat Groom
- Long-Haired Full-Coat Groom
- Lion Cut: Standard
- Lion Cut: Variation
- Comb Cut and Face Trim
An NCGIA Membership is required for certification.
Personalised Private Instruction
Price: $600 per day or $5,000.00 for 5 days
Not sure if this is for you but want to give it a go? I have one-day sit-ins to observe, with little hands-on packages also available.
Up-skill package:
Price: $350 per day or $2,000.00 for 4 days
You will have to take it a little further and get some hands-on experience before taking your exams to become a CFMG™.

Terms:
Payable by direct debit within seven days of making a booking. A 50% deposit can be made when making the booking, the other 50% will have to be paid in full 30 days before the starting date. Fees are non-refundable. With adequate notice, fees may be applied at a later date.
